Older brother and I had one as kids, it didn't survive. Bought my grandson a Oliver for Christmas 2 years ago, and a JD combine last year. I called Helen Dumont and personalized the Oliver. Chris

my brother and I shared a STEEL pedal Fire Engine ,, Guess we destroyed it because my Younger brother Does not remember it .about 25 yrs later . I got my kids in 1984 a nice JDeere tractor and trailer,,the Boys pulled everything with it to the point of abuse.. Then when They graduated to engines.. the tractor went on loan to their younger cousins for about 10 years , 2 years ago the JD ,less the trailer ????, came back to be given to my 1st grandson , Each time it was handed over the Tractor needed quite a bit cosmetic work and repairs ... All a labor of LOVE ... just last week i stumbled upon ERTHLcollector edition signed Oliver and M- Moline .. 12 yr. old tractors still in box at consignment auction,,,., that was my chance to make things right for my Tom-boy gran daughters and My wifes 1st grandson ,. Snatched them up , .. Only had one shifter noise-maker between the 2 , so I put it on Jacobs tractor ,,, I Hope his mother will no9t be upset about that . LOL

Back in 1970 JD had an offer in Reader's Digest - that if you bought a JD garden tractor, they would throw in a free pedal tractor. He took ad to dealer, as he had just bought a new JD 140 with accessories. They ordered up and gave him a JD LGT pedal tractor. We still have that tractor in relatively good condition. It wasn't a particularly good toy for around here, as wheels did not have a coarse tire tread, and gearing wasn't particularly advantageous. Only one rear wheel was driven. If we had had a good sidewalk or paved parking lot, the story might have been different.

We didn't have enough money for something like that when I was a kid. When our oldest was about 4 we got him a John Deere 4430. It's been thru 3 kids and 7 grandkids, Lord only knows how many other kids, and it is still ready to go. Maybe someday I'll restore it for my great grandkids.

Got my daughter a pretty nice Kabota, ah, 6,7,8 years ago? Too old for it now but she still pushes it around in the basement from time to time. Don't exactly remebember why a Kabota but probably had something to do with the timing of my Christmas shopping!

The one I had growing up was green with not decals on it. I think it used to be a John Deere but by the time we got it it was more of an Oliver color. Me and my brother just about rode the tires off the thing. The lady we bought if from had a grandson about 15 years ago and we sold it back to her. My wife is pregnat with our first child so hope'n Santa will bring a pedal tractor the next few years.

Mine came from Western Auto. All I can recall is that it was red.

didn't get this for Christmas but I gave this one a work-over this summer. I do still have a John Deere 1:16th toy I got for Christmas in 1975 - when I was 5.

Learned a lesson: My Ford Cast Iron pedal tractor was not put in the shed for the winter, snow covered the JD 350 plowing snow made a mess.

I had a Ford 8000. I remeber hauling it home in a bed of a 1951 Ford truck with flat bed. We tied it down with about 100 foot of rope. My eyes never left left on our 100 plus mile journey home.
Now days my kids get to pull any time they want. And some times when they dont :)

Dad said they would only work on concrete, so I never had one. Don't know if he was shining me on, or not. I do know we got our oldest son a little "sidewalk" bike with plastic tires, and it didn't work at all on gravel or dirt.

heres a funny one. i grew up poor and remember as i young kid i visited a children's orphan home out in a rural setting where they had horses and pedal tractors. remember riding the pedal tractor and thinking how great it would be to live there.
