RED, i checked the other parts, clutch housing (1-26-L), rear axle-transmission housing (1-28-L), top plate cover (1-26-L), motor (1-26-L) front steering gear cast (1-22-L). i guess my uncle was wrong on the purchase date. he said he bought it 2 or 3 years after the war ended, but he must have bought it after the war started. i have ordered a new serial plate so the hand stamped number on the block is the number i stamp on the new plate? do i include the letters also (with glasses it is a B, FBH-96299)? thanks for the help.
