I think the biggest problem is the ramp and roller will go bad. The TA itself is bathed in oil just like the tranny. The clutch is a dry clutch(small version of of the engine clutch) and is in a dry housing directly in front of the TA. The dry clutch could also be worn down. You can get a heavy duty rebuilt TA for around $400 at Steel Wheel Ranch (785) 548-7437. There is also a seal and gasket kit that you mite as well put in while its torn down and that should run around $60. Get an I&T manual and it will lead you step by step through the procedure to put the new TA in.
