Lets not beat up the guys who write the books. I think they do a good job overall. Most of the horsepower ratings came from the Nebraska tractor tests, and if they didn't, don't believe them. Remember too that we don't always know soil conditions or how the tractor was weighted and balanced for the Nebraska tests. I heard some time ago that a super C would out pull an H and thought it sounded ridiculous. I asked a local "old timer" and his answer was that yes a bare,stock super C would out pull a bare stock H because it wouldn't lose traction as quick as an H. But, he said, a properly weighted and balanced H would out pull the super C. I guess if you boil all this down, it means that what you can pull with any given tractor has as much to do with traction as it does with horsepower.
