If the A is the same as a Farmall B you need to remove the little oval cover at the bottom of the clutch bell housing and look for the DC-14 mark on the clutch housing. The DC1-4 mark aligns with a stationary index at the very bottom when No 1 and No 4 cylinders are at TDC. Take the spark plug out of the No. 1 cylinder (cylinder closest to the gas tank) and watch for the piston to get at the top of the compression stroke and then look up into the bottom of the bell housing and you should be able to see the markings. Static time it at DC-14, at high speed it should advance to something before DC-14. I'm not sure right off what the advance should be. Good Luck - you'll need a flash light.
