You may want to look at the rest of your electrical system. If its a distributor make sure there is a good connection for all the wires and one isn't hanging be a thread. Take a look at the cap to see if it has moisture in it or maybe cracked. When you changed the points did you change the condenser too. Make sure the plugs are clean and in good shape. Is there any water in your gas. If there is a lot you may not see too layers in the sediment bowl as what you are seeing is all water. Id also take a look at the intake manifold. Could have developed a crack - I had mine on a H just come loose one time and leaked. Anytime I've seen my H or M run fine one day and srewy the next day it was points and condenser. Good luck.
