I'll try to make a long story short here. Got home from work tonight, less than an inch of snow. Saw a brand new Ford Explorer in the ditch across from the house. Two people in it. Pulled into my driveway, walked over to see if I could help. It was a young man (maybe 20) and his girlfriend. Not hurt at all but very frustrated at being stuck. Offered to try and pull them out of the ditch, not knowing if the old '49 Farmall H would start, since it hadn't been run since before Thanksgiving. Put on heavy coat and boots and went out to the barn. Temp was 12F, turned on the gas, pulled the choke on, hit the starter, and she started right up. 6 volt electrics and a magneto. Let it warm up a bit, found my chain, and managed to walk the new 4wd yuppy wagon right out of the ditch. Two new belivers in "Old Iron"
