I was going to E-mail you but I could not find your E-mail address. The stock "M", as most people on this board know, produces about 35 HP. With increased displacement, increased compression ratio, proper ignition timing and carb venturi size and jetting, some head and manifold flow work, and 10% increase in governor speed, the "M" engine is quite proefficent and comfortable with this output as evidenced by the dyno at the local John Deere dealer. In response to the Farmall/sprayer post, the downside is a 10% increase in engine speed will result in a PTO speed of about 600 rpm's. Some sprayers do not like this speed and a trailer mounted sprayer requires considerable movement of the driveline when turning. Higher driveshaft speeds result in increased driveshaft repair expenses.
