Assuming you have the old style shifters. The problem could be below the operators platform where the linkage enters the range tranny cover. The holes wallow out. I had bushings put in my 806. Or check the linkage by the brake pedal A pin or keyway in this linkage gets sloppy. I had to repair my 806 5 years because it wouldn't go into reverse. bushings in the range tranny cover. Check your linkage inside the hood A turnbuckle may need to be adjusted or worn out. Do this first.
