Hello and thanks to all who responded to my problem with starting my farmall super h. I found
that the valves were open when they were supposed to be closed. This led me to pull the front end
and low and behold, the end of the camshaft, where it is keyed to the upper gear, was broken out, around the key. Crumbled metal all over the place. I dont know why this would happen, but it sure did. Now I've got the next problem. Do I take the shaft to a machine shop and have it welded up, or do I locate a used camshaft ?( note the screw retainer that kept the gear on was stripped out.)
I'd be interested in some more of your opinions. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU AGAIN..
