I have the same Operator's Manual as you. When these manuals were first published, Hy-Tran had not been developed. When the 400 series came out, the spec was changed to a mixture of SAE 30 and IH Torque Amplifier Transmission Additive Fluid. Later, probably with the introduction of the 560, IH began using Hy-Tran and recommended its use in all TA equipped machines. For a brief period they recommended SAE-10W in the IPTO rear housing. The current recommendation is Hy-Tran for everything but engine lubrication for our early TA machines. Steering gear housing changed with the 560 and I am not clear what is recommended. I use gear oil. TA's do not like heavy oil particularly when it is cold.
