Coasting in the low side allows the planetary gear cage to turn the same direction as it would in the high side, but when you are coasting faster that the tractor would be going in the high side and shift from the low side to the high side locking up the planetary gear set, you have the almost the same effect, if not greater as the motor kicking back on the whole assemble. Not so much on the overrunning clutch, but the planetary assemble and the TA clutch. If you are going fast enough something is going to give. Hard shocks are the real killers here as in any transmission and when you shift like that it would send a terrible shock.. As far as using it in 5th gear. If you use it as you would in any other gear, there should be no more damage other than normal wear. Hope this explanation clears some things up. John In Iowa
