Braze or solder will work fine. But I've had excellent luck using JB Weld to repair stuff like this. Get the inside of the pan around the petcock scrupulously clean (light sandblast if you can then degrease) - you'll probably find a small crack when you do. Then butter the crack and surrounding area with a light layer of JB Weld. Let it cure at least 12 hours before reassembling.
