H Transmission oil seal

Well, I got the liftall out using the threaded rod approach (great idea 'The Red') and replaced the two gaskets and seal on the lifall as well as the transmission counter shaft seal (used a large pipe wrench) and gasket. I never would have been able to do it without all the advice on this board - still took me about 3 weeks off/on to get this far. I'm debating whether to do the upper transmission seal and gasket before putting back the liftall and the 7 gallons of new trans fluid. I noticed its well above the transmission oil level plug - so I'm wondering if that seal is ever really a problem ? Sounds like its a real dog to get that coupling off. Thanks for any advice.
