Rod - Around here (upstate NY) there's several options: 1 - Anyplace that sells antifreeze is obligated by law to accept used antifreeze back in "reasonable quantities" anytime. Same goes for motor oil. 2 - The county DPW will accept used antifreeze, oil, pesticides, paint etc. in marked containers at their hazardous waste handling facility. There is no charge, but you must make an appointment prior to making a delivery. 3 - Our town hwy dept has a hazardous was drop-off days at the town barns on a Sat morning each spring and fall. Works the same as the county deal (must be in labelled containers, etc.) Whatever you do DON'T dump this stuff on the ground or in the sewer! It's no good for fish, plant life, etc. And if a tree-hugger spots you doing it and blows you in, the fines are hefty.
