Brent - I've encountered those caps stuck on pretty good - especially if the tractor's been living outdoors for a few years. Try tapping it with a wooden hammer handle, scrap 2x4 or something. A few taps on the top, bottom and side - keep repeating until it comes free. Don't worry about damaging the metal distributor body - the cap is the fragile part of the assembly! Also keep in mind that if the cap breaks on you (or you gotta break it to get it off) a new one costs less than $10.
