Kev have you tryed running the engine at half to two thirds trottel and turning the steering wheel to the left? this will help bleed air and help pick up prime. If this does not work then you have an other problem , there could be a hole in the suction tube in the rear end or the O/ring between the speed trans and the range trans is leaking . Try over filling the hdy. with about two or three gallons and see what happens. You can also take a blow gun and pull the dip stick and take a rag and pressureise the system with the engine runningif it take prime then you need a new pump dig deep in your pockets. Oh yea if you pressure up the system do not just pull the blow gun and rag out real fast did that once on warm days it still drips HY TRAN from the ceiling. Or you could just through it on a trailer and bring it down to the shop . PS bring BARLEY POP.
