You have the correct location. Did you take off
the inspection cover & look up in there. Could
be the release bearing. Cub has a different type
of throw out bearing. Not really a bearing. I've
had to replace mine twice in 15 years. Maybe
look up in there & look for any damage while
your pushing the pedal back & forth. Take care.
