Light dimmer 5 ohms. Field resistance 2.8 ohms.

FB - Keep in mind the resistor needs to be rated for about 20 watts or higher - otherwise it'll burn up in use. Unlikely Radio Shack will stock something that big. But I've had success winding my own using a heater wire from one of the daughter's old hair dryers and a DVM. Hope this helps! ...Bob M
