I haven't tried it myself, but I have given it some thought. With the benefits and seniority I'd lose to give my job, it's too scary to do any more than daydream about at this stage. I am afraid that it would be hard to find customers that can afford to pay for the amount of labor that most restorations require. My own efforts in that area always seem to take more time and money than I estimate, but then my own labor is free. I think to make money at it you need to be either very, very good and therefore in demand, or very efficient (cheap). I know of one guy who travels all over the US and Canada collecting basket cases and putting them back together and seems to stay in buisness, but those are very old tractors (titan's, mogol's, rummly's etc). Good luck whichever way you decide to go.
