All the blocks are the same on the outside. The 221 gas and the 236 diesel have a shorter stroke crankshaft than the rest. Some engines don't have sleeves and later engines have different heads from earlier ones (460-560). Combine engines have a different front cover than tractors. We actually play the same game with diesels 236-282-301.
