I have a Cub that will not start below 70 degrees. It turns over fine and will fire on one cylinder. The starter kicks out as soon as it fires. I had the starter checked by 2 shops, both say it is fine. I guess there is nothing to keep the starter engaged like on a car. So, I thought it must be the points. I took of the cap (looks fine) and removed the 2 screws holding the cover below the rotor (darn rotor would not pull off). Well, lo and behold I found the gear drive rotor but no points. I'm not sure I put the rotor on in the same place-- one tooth off is easy to miss. How do I make sure the rotor timing is correct? Where are the darn points? How do set the timing? Anyone want to buy a 48 Cub with a nice International loader and a Kelly backhoe? Runs great, just won't start when it is cold. Thank you, Jim Murray
