Plowboy, If you have a metal band on the end of your srarter in the armature area you can pop it off and CAREFULLY put a screwdriver in and turn the armature in the opposite direction of normal rotation to free the bendix up, pry CAREFULLY where the windings are attached to the armature I do this when my 450 desides to do its little lock-up trick. Course it only does it when you are having a very trying day like trying to get the hay bailed before it rains torrentially for a week,one day its gonna do it an I'm gonna put the updated style starter on it .and eliminate the problem
