I think all the 140s had the same size engine, 123 cu in. The super A is the earlier version of the 140, also the 100 and 130. The Super A had a 113 cu in engine. All the others I think have the 123 engine. The high altitude package had higher compression. I guess it was different pistons, but am not sure. Someone may have changed the carb, or maybe it came with the Carter. They made the 140 for so long, it's entirely possible that the book you have does not match the tractor, thus the difference regards the carb on what's in the book versus the tractor. Others here are more expert on history, so maybe they will give you some answers. I hope I am reasonably accurate.
