Hey joe.....several questions:

1 - Is your tractor equipped with a generator or alternator?

2 - Which battery terminal (+ or -) is the battery ground cable connected to? (The ground cable is the one whose other end is bolted directly to the tractor frame or engine block)

3 - With the engine stopped does the ammeter indicate charge or discharge when you turn on an electrical load (lights or ignition)?
