All three ports are outlets. One of the three has a built in 3 second delay for raising the rear portion of a mounted cultivator. So you can hook up to any of the three. The belly pump when activated by the operating lever(right side just below the head light)puts out about 800# of pressure to a hydralic cylinder and raises the load. The pressure is applied as long as the handle is held in the full back position, so you can extend the cylinder a little or completely or anywhere in between. When the handle is returned to the neutral position (to where the stop- protusion on bottom of handle- rests on the supporting arm) fluid stops flowing and the cylinder should remain in the selected extension. When the operating handle is pushed all the way forward, the hydralic fluid is permitted to return to the belly pump and the cylinder is closed. The hydralics are refered to as "one way" and only one hose is connected to each cylinder and a vent plug is used in the other port on the cylinder. Sorry this is so long, D-2
