I have put several alternators on H's. All I do is turn the generator bracket over and drill the hole out to 3/8". Then I mount the alternator on the bracket and or the top support I find a curved bracket and use it. If the alternator don't fit under the hood I heat the bracket up and bend it up until the alternator fits under the hood. Out of 5 tractors I have only had to bend one bracket. An other plus for mounting the alternator this way is it uses the original belt.
