The C-153 engine I was told was a larger version of the C-135 engine in the C. It was a wet sleeve engine I was told like the A,B, & C. The H Super H, 300 & 350 were dry sleeve engines so the engine can be rebuilt to new spec. The 504 should be able to have the wet liners and pistons replaced too. 504's were short due to the 4-cyl. engine which made weight transfer off the rear end during loader work a problem without lots of ballast. A longer tractor like the 656 would be a better tractor for heavy loader work. 504 would be more nimble in close quarters though. The 504 is about 40-45 HP, 656 is about 60-65, the 3020 Deere mentioned in the other post is 70. I have a loader on my Super H with no PS and it works very well except when I have a full bucket of rock or sand. Dad's '51 M with loader has Char-Lyn P/S and I almost prefer the SH without P/S for most things. But Then I'm partial to the SH anyhow...

Flax provided the fibre which w
