In early 1941 my uncle traded his Avery Ro-Trak for a new H. This tractor came on rubber with starter and lights and lift-all hydraulics, also a laminated paper type belt pulley and 1 1/8 dia. PTO shaft. It was an "all fuel" type and had the little gas tank for starting. All through the WWII era he used "tractor fuel" in it, same stuff my Gramdpa burned in his 30-60 Oilpull. The Standard Oil dealer furnished the fuel and as I recall for less than 10 cents a gallon then. The tractor had 10-38 Goodyear Sure Grip tires on the rear and 5.50-16 Goodyear Multi-rib tires on the front. The seat was dark gray duck cloth and sort of a jute lining, it was mounted on a semi-cicular 2" or so tube bent about 80 degrees, it would flip over so you could operate standing up and so it wouldn't catch rain or snow if you left the tractor out. There was a cute little tool box on the support that would hold an 8 inch, pliers and a screwdriver and a few bolts, nuts, and cotter pins. There's lots more about that tractor I remember too, it was the first Farmall I ever drove and I spent a lot of hours on it, Uncle used it for everything-sold the hosses.
