Yes, you are right. Was not looking at my tractor when I posted. You will probably need some permetex to go around the strainer flange when re installing. Fill plug is directly overhead of strainer. When you fill it back (fill it until oil starts to run out plug), run tractor a few minutes and work levers full up and full back several times to get the air out of the system. When you go to check to system be sure lift levers are in the REAR posistion and engine is OFF before removing the fill plug. And you will want to remove fill plug SLOWLY. I have done this job many times and normally you will find the strainer somewhat clogged up. If you get it cleaned up with new fluid it will be good for many years.
