I used hex on my B, replacing the badly rusted hex bolts that were already there. I'm not a stickler for originality. I had no problem getting the rusted nuts off. I just jammed a couple big screwdrivers in the bolt pocket to keep the bolt from turning. If they do rust so bad they won't come off, you can always drill out the center of the bolt and break them off with a hammer. (I don't own a torch)
