Super M Clutch

I split My Super M to rebuild the clutch, I had the flywheel turned at a place the NAPA recommended, My problem is when I bolt the presure plate and the clutch back to the flywheel it compresses the clutch, so when I put it back together the through out bearing hits the 3 pegs and stops dead. What am I doing wrong? What is the distance between supose to be on the step up part of the flyweel. Thanks
