Noticed recently that one of the bolts that attaches the axle carrier on my C to the transmission was sticking out farther than the others. Decided to investigate, so took it loose. Rather than the nut coming off, the stud came out and the transmission oil started coming out. Apparently at some time, the stud hole has broken through. I've drained the fluid and wondering what to do to repair. Decided to clean up the threads and coat the stud with silicone gasket sealer and screw it back in. Then put the nut on. Does anyone think this will hold??
