Hi Tom, You probably have stress in the pieces that fit together on your radaitor. If the joint is stressed from asseymbling then pop rivet the pieces to be soldered if a lap joint, then solder. If cracking on a nonfactory joint then heat and quench with water, then solder. Be sure and use a murratic acid flux when soldering.
