The front and back holes on the left side are for the two shoulder-head bolts that engage the slots in the bottom of the battery box to allow it to slide in and out. Then there is a bar that bolts to the middle-left hole and the right hole that the battery box tabs bolt to when the box is in place. The turned-up part of the bar goes UP on the right side. I feel for you -- when I redid the battery boxes on my MD it took me days to figure this out! (Of course I didn't have another tractor to look at as a guide).
