Bob,when you did your engine did you get the head planed? It isn't an expensive proposition and 5\1000th is the tolerant level, after that it needs planing. I did my son's Jeep and when i took the head into the machine shop it was warped 20\1000ths, A gasket won't solve the problem if it's warped any. Farmall43,Bob and Joe in VA are all on target when it comes to deciding on blown gasket. From trial and error(did I tell you I had to take the head off and get it done after I had assembled the engine?), you don't know how upsetting it is to see prestone running out the tailpipe!!!..anyway you might need to consider planing the head..just a thought from Mike soldan in Exeter Ontario..good luck!
