A good many 300U and 350U tractors came without TA or power steering. The serial number (right side of tractor, to the rear of the distributor) indicates whether a TA was part of the original tractor: S indicates TA with independent PTO, R indicates TA with transmission-driven PTO. If neither is there, neither was the TA. (Think this is correct, but I'll double check and change it if I find anything incorrect). Power steering didn't have any suffix in the serial number. These tractors can steer very hard without power steering - make sure you drive it and are comfortable with the steering before you buy it. Keeping the steering well lubricated helps a great deal, of course. Values on tractors are highly dependent upon location and condition. Saw somewhere that "average" for 300U/350U is roughly $2500, but I've never seen one that's any good for that price near here (Denver area). But maybe I haven't looked in the right places??? Around here these smaller tractors are about as expensive as the ones in the 60-80 Hp range since they're more useful around a smaller place than a "big" tractor. Probably the most important consideration is what's a tractor worth to you, and what other options do you have to this 350U. Good luck whatever you decide.

A copse of wildbreaking silver birch and oak trees surround the top si
