I have a 1954 IH utility 300 with a blown gas engine that is completely unrebuildable however i happened to have a ford 240 engine out of a hobart welding machine i adapted this engine to the IH flywheel and clutch assembly and "stabbed" it unto the transmisson spline and this connection spins freely out of gear but i have not configured a way to firmly anchor this engine to the tractors clutch housing because the existing bolt holes do not match on either the engine or housing end and i beleive that welding them togher would not work one side is cast and the other is carbon steel and the only rod to my knowledge that would "stick" would be 308 stainless and would not stick well so if anybody has any ideas please let me know , thanks
