I believe there is a vent hole in the cap. It may be hidden by the gasket. Some had the vent hole on top of the cap, but I believe my MD has it on the underside some way as there is no hole on top. You can see a hole on the bottom side however. Sounds like you need someone that is coming to Australia to put a new tall cap in their luggage for you.
