Ron - Conrat's on your acquisition of a Super M - they're a wonderful machine! You can VERY CAREFULLY try bending the spring hanger on the cutout relay (the one you pushed) so you slightly reduce the spring tension. This will cause it to "pull in" sooner (and hopefully by itself) as the engine spins up. However if you reduce the spring tension too much, the relay won't drop out when you shut down - result will be a dead battery. Better solution is to spend $35 or so and buy a new regulator. Chances are the voltage regulator relay on the one you've got is messed up too. You'll save many times that amount in aggravation (trust me on this - I've been there many times!)
