Being John Deere is the world's largest supplier of OEM engines for short line equipment manufacturers, and that CASE NEW HOLLAND, (no IH anymore boys, get over it) outsources these sprayers, as well as most of their tillage equipment, because they lack the design or manufacturing capability, they take what they can get. If CNH is still around for the next generation of these sprayers they will probably spec an engine from one of the Italian manufacturers owned by the parent company, or go back to Cummins or Perkins. As it was CNH needed something quick to meet the sucessful market penetration John Deere has had with their new precision sprayers, and they had to take what they found.
