Johnny, I certainly dont claim to be an authority on this. But I do know it is imperative that all linkage and valves be adjusted properly. I have a Super MD that acted the same way, acted like it wanted to start, but you could tell that it was really only trying on one or two cylinders. I wasted a lot of time thinking that I had an ignition problem. I would get the book out and go thru the whole valve and linkage adjusting process. Make sure you dont get ahead of yourself. There are a couple thing that HAVE to be done in the proper sequence. Good Luck
