I'd like to help you out, but I am a little confused. What did you add one gallon of gear oil to? the transmission or the final drives? The capacity of either is less than one gallon so an overfill is likely. The seals that if leaking would cause oil to run down the inside of the rear tires are the outer axle seals. The final drive pan gaskets may also cause oil to contact the tire sidewalls if they are leaking. Hope this helps. John
