If the pump is good on your 300, the rake will work well. However,(or but or if or maybe) the 300 has no oil cooler, and in heavy hay or rolling land or even a warm (not hot) day the basket will not maintain proper RPM. You may try a top quality synthetic oil or put a large oil cooler in front of the 300 rad. There is room behind the grill. Be sure to construct a shroud joining the rads. In my area a cooler from a 74 series are available; a transmisson cooler from a pickup might also function. You also might want to install a resevoir on the rake to increase oil capacity which would increase cooling. Use half hose on the lines. Had a F350 on a 35 rake, had heating problems, and used a newer tractor with a cooler.(no time in haying season to construct machinery-raked with a 1066-air felt good!!)
