LB.. Something that I have done a number of times that works good for me is to remove the belt pulley housing (or that flat cover if there is no belt pulley) and then you are able to look in and see the high gear very nicly. Your will be able to watch the gear move as you shift into high gear. I have found that some shifter forks get bent enought that you are not able to get full tooth engagement. Something that you could try if you see that you are not getting full tooth engagement is use a five foot prybar and force the gear towards the front of the tractor bending the shifter fork. You will have to place a block of wood infront of the shifter rail so that you are able to force the frontwards, bending the shifter a little untill you get full engagement when you shift into high gear. If it does not work then you have to pull the transmission cover and look at replacing the two gears and maybe the shifter fork. So you are not out much if bending the shifter does not work.
