A serial number plate can be found almost anywhere depending on what make or model your tractor is. I've seen plates on housings, frames, tool boxes, and even fenders. Ounce the plate is found and can be read the info should all be on there. Note that the plate may have been removed or detatched over the years. If that is the case then look for other clues such as part stampings. Perhaps JD or IHC maybe stamped into a part. If tractor has no paint left on it, sometimes you can find paint under layers of grease or dirt. Paint color should give you a hint. You maybe able to find one just like yours in various books and magazines if it comes down to that but first I would go find a real old timer to talk to.
