Moe, I just rebuilt a Farmall MD. If you really rebuild the engine it can cost literally thousands of dollars. I took mine down to the bare block, replaced main and rod bearings (center main not available anymore), pistons, sleeves, rings, etc. I even had the block hot dipped so it looked like new. The injector pump and injectors are the other pricey rebuild items as you can spend a thousand dollars on them. Adding in a valve job, gaskets, etc. you can spend over $3000. However, when I was done, it was so great to start the engine and see/hear it run so nice. The MD has such a unique engine. Roger
