I'd have to look at an I-T manual or the Owners or parts book for the Super M to say what the "C" stands for but the "J" means it has a "ROCKFORD" Clutch in it. Rockford Clutch was later bought out by Borg-Warner and made almost ALL the clutches for IHC. The "C" probably stands for 5000 ft. High altitude pistons installed at the factory. IHC made engines in "Sea Level, 5000 ft, and 8000 ft. altitude versions. They raised the compression slightly by putting small domes on the pistons, the more altitude, the higher the dome & compression ratio. I don't know what Super M's sell for in your part of the country but My Dad sold a real nice '52 Super M in about 2 hrs about 4 yrs ago for $1200. Mailman pulled into the yard as Dad parked it next to the road and Bought it One the spot! Guy came back 2 hrs later with the cash & 5 gal. of gas and drove it home! I thought $1600 to $1800 was probably closer to what it was worth in north-western IL. back then.
