Kurt after the engine has cooled down, remove the governor side plate and the spring. You can then check the thruster bearing assembly. It should slide horizontally but not wobble. More than likely that and a worn spring are your culprits. Also check the idle screw. The locking nuts on those can get loose and the screw can get out of adjustment from vibration.
