I bought a second H last fall and stored it. I am now just getting around to messing with it.I am changing all the fluids in it and something that I think is strange is the following message right out of the Operator's manual..quote "Fill the liftall to the full mark on the bayonet guage with clean, good quality engine oil of the same viscosity as used in the engine of your tractor".... this surprises me as I would expect a more refined hydraulic fluid..also oil is not really compatible with any rubber parts, seals and hoses and causes their break down. My concern would be using a ram and then hooking another tractor to the same ram and contaminating that tractor..So now the question is does hydraulic fluid that I would use in a new tractor have enough viscosity to work in the liftall of a 57 year old tractor. I just don't think engine oil and hydraulic trans fluid are the same. Give me your two cents worth I'd like to hear what you other farmallers have to say. My other H doesn't have a liftall and so it has never been my concern untill now. Thanks...MIke Soldan in Exeter Ontario
